Bernard Walke

Bernard began making bows in 1980 with Peter Mach in Aylmer, Quebec and then set out on his own in Toronto. He sought advice from musicians and began copying “old” bows and custom making them to musicians’ specifications. In fact, without some very supportive musicians, it would have been difficult for Bernard to produce the fine playing-qualities for which his bows are noted.

He continues to enjoy making bows and working in collaboration with musicians from his home in Ottawa.
