Richard Benoit

Richard Benoit is a luthier specialized in maintenance, adjustment, repair and restoration of violins, violas, violoncellos and double basses. He also makes violins, violas and violoncellos.

Following his experiences in France, Germany and Canada, he continues his quest for symbiosis between the musician and his instrument. He considers that the creation and the rigorous modelling of timbre from elements of nature offer incredible possibilities.

Richard Benoit is one of the founding members of the “Makers Forum” and member of the “Violin Society of America”. He is also doing research about the history of violin and bow making in Quebec, Canada and North America.
