Trevor Ewert is a bowmaker and violinist based in Kitchener, Ontario. He has been making bows for stringed instruments since the mid 1990’s with a particular focus on bows of the baroque and classical periods. Trevor’s historical and modern bows are played by musicians around the world. He has received commissions from the Jeanne Lamon Instrument Bank (Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra),
Laurier University, the Calgary Bach Festival Society, the United States Airforce Strings and most recently, the Canimex Foundation. Trevor’s approach to modern bows is uniquely informed by both his sensibilities as a musician and his understanding of bows throughout history as a tool to serve the needs of each performer.
